I don't think I've ever done anything more worthwhile. I learned so much about myself and the world around me on this program.
Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 2 weeks - 1 month |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Academics were on par with my home university, professors were extremely accommodating to international students |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Housing was fantastic- they were incredibly accommodating (brought us an extra fridge because we had so many flatmates, fixed a shattered door that day for no charge). My only complaint is that there was no central heating- it gets chilly in the winter! |
* Food: |
There is no meal plan for international students at this school, but there is a grocery store within walking distance with a great selection and reasonable prices. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
Healthcare was easily acceptable through the university. I was easily able to get a prescription for a medication I ran out of while overseas, and it cost less then it did back home! No vaccinations were needed for this program. |
* Safety: |
I always felt safe on campus on in town, even when walking alone at night. Campus safety was never far away if you needed them. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
This is low rated because I blew a lot of money on frivolous things (those bungy jumps really add up!.) However, basic essentials like food and clothes are only moderately more expensive than back home. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Grabone.co.nz There are A LOT of tourist attraction deals on here. I saved tons on my adventures with this site! |

The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
