i didn't think that the workload was too much while abroad, it was the perfect amount to still feel like you are in school but to get the chance to travel and visit other countries. it was definitely less work then i would normally have at my home university however it was a totally different learning experience. it was more independent learning where at UNH its more guided.

On-site administration of your program

there was always someone to talk to if you needed it,they are very organized, which was more than i could say for my home university, i remember one time i went into the office to pass in some paperwork for my classes and Elly the host country study advisor asked how i was acclimating and i told her i was having fun but i was having a difficult time finding classes that would please my home university and she offered to email my home university advisor to help me out. i was shocked i would never get that kind of assistance at home. i never had any issue where i needed their assistance immediately but i know of people that did and they were always there to help them weather it was a lost passport or trouble in a class. my expectations were exceeded especially because of the large number of students that were study abroad, but Elly always remembered my name and always had time to talk about anything.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

it was very safe

the food is wicked good!! very fresh! there is a market in Limerick on the weekends its called the Milk Market, they have fresh produce all kinds of meats and homemade chocolate and fudge! Most of my meals i had were meals my friends and i made. most of the meals i ate out were in different cities or countries. However for future students they definitely should hit up Dolans and try all the places that you can. The Cafes are all really good, my favorite was called Sage, they had the best chocolate cake.:)

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

In my specific program there was no one else studying in Limerick, so i didn't have the bonus of have an immediate group of friends when i went over there, i knew absolutely no one. But my advisor Coleman was very helpful in meeting people, he always had great advice and knew what to say if i came to him with any problem! it turned out i had no problem meeting friends and traveling with them. this was an experience unlike anything else, and i have memories that i will never forget with friends that will always be a huge part of my life.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

everyone said that limerick is "stab city" but i never experienced anything like that, nothing that seemed sketchy or made me uncomfortable either on campus or in the city at any hour of the night. i did experience a little of the health care system, i became really sick with a bad cold while i was over there and i had no problem getting an appointment at the health services on campus. the Dr. gave me the name of some over the counter medicine to help me sleep and get throughout the day. Interstudy was very helpful with my sickness, Coleman again was always there with anything i needed.
