Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Enjoyable class topics, but not very demanding or rigorous work. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administration was eager to help and understood students needs. There was some disorganization and miscommunication both with students and between staff members, but overall fairly reliable. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I lived with a first time host family. Communication was difficult at times since I did not speak Arabic or French. Overall, a wonderful experience I would highly recommend. |
* Food: |
Not a lot of food options in Meknes so you can get tired of eating the same things. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
You jump right into Moroccan culture and society during the excursions when you first arrive. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I did not use the health care, however, other students did mention some problems finding and navigating the system. |
* Safety: |
Overall, the city felt safe. For women, there is catcalling. The staring, namecalling, etc. can make it difficult to simply walk the streets. Also things such as walking alone at night and conservative dress are issues for women. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
