ISA Paris was a Wonderful and Educationally Rewarding experience! Past Review
By Michelet G (Art Education, Rowan University) for
ISA Study Abroad in Paris, France
I learned how to make decisions for myself, street smarts (I'm a country girl) and how to self motivate. How did it impact my future plans? As soon as I got home I applied for a work visa to return and live in France.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Work load seemed fine. I had plenty of time to do my work and enjoy some free time exploring my host city of Paris. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
For a Paris study abroad, the group size was fairly small, and class sizes ok. I would have liked a smaller class size for the Art and Architecture course. It was difficult to hear the teacher sometimes because of the large group. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The host family was wonderful. They even extended an invite to some of my friends that i made in the program who did not have comfortable host family. |
* Food: |
They were very attentive to the fact that I am a vegetarian and had a lot of variation in their meals. They did not offer lunch, but I was not home during the day due to classes and exploring anyway. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The excursions and the administrators were absolutely wonderful. I loved the trip to the loire valley where we tasted goat cheese and riette. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I did get very sick with an ear and sinus infection while I was there. I just went to the pharmacy and got antibiotics. They spoke almost perfect English and it cost me about $10 american. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Independent people would benefit the best from this study abroad program. There is so much to do that a lot of time is wasted waiting for other students to become available. I heard complaining from many other students about how much time was wasted trying to meet up with other students in the city. |
