What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved living on own in a foreign country and gaining some independence. It was an irreplaceable experience

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

ISA did a wonderful job coordinating with the local Universities. The professors were both very knowledgable in their areas of interest and were also very approachable. I always felt as though the courses were an interactive experience that made it all the better.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Despite being a fairly young program the administrators were very professional in the way they conducted the program but also provided an outstanding level of support and comfort.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Czech cuisine is very hearty, but also very delicious. The bread dumplings and Czech Goulash were both very good and can be found it most parts of the city. Also being a very international city, you can find anything from authentic Thai food to excellent Brazilian BBQ !

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The weekend excursions were a lot of fun and a great way to experience the culture. My favorite was traveling to one the tiny spa towns and drinking the mineral water. Also traveling to the south to Moravia, to the wine country was a truly unforgettable experience. The locals were very friendly.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Even coming back from a late night in the city I never felt unsafe. The public transportation runs almost 24 hours a day and the authorities are always present to some degree or another.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Take time to break away from the group and explore on your own. The city is small enough to see almost everything with your time there and it really gives a the sense of independence, and adventure.
