Food was very similar to American food. My host family would cook often for me |

I made a lot of friends through my workplace's families. We would all hang out, cook a Chilean dish, etc |

How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I never had any issues, but I know that I was covered in case something did go wrong. Santiago is pretty safe and the water is okay to drink. |
* Safety: |
While I was in Santiago there were some riots, which we were advised to stay away from. Other than that, I always felt safe. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |

My host family bought food for me, so the only costs I had were going out with friends and traveling |

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Don't eat out a lot, go to the grocery store |

They encouraged us but we would always speak English with eachother of course. It was difficult to learn Spanish but I did know quite a bit when I left! |
