Great for those with little foreign experience, less so for the well-traveled Past Review
By Pat M (Materials Science and Engineering, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor) - abroad from 02/01/2011 to 07/16/2011 with
ISA Study Abroad in Valparaíso/Viña del Mar, Chile
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Was it worthwhile? Yes and no. I was hoping for a little more of an authentic experience - less 'tourist-y'. Some of that was on me; I could have done more to try to get myself involved in the culture, but some of it was a result of the program trying to save us from being uncomfortable. On the other hand, I had a blast, and I'm still happy I went.
