What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The study abroad experience is truly unique for everyone. You just have to go into with your eyes closed and do it. Some days are better than others but you will not regret a second of it when its all over.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Studying in another country opened my mind up to different ways of learning. Although I preferred the cultural experiences over the academic work, I think a took a lot away from the experience as a whole.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Bill, Sarah, Claire and Heather were all fantastic during my time in London as well as my during pre-departure. They made sure we had all the right information and documents and if we had any problems in London I had no problem going to any of them. I miss them a lot actually.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Myself and five other friends found a flat in the greater london area that accommodated all of our needs. I would definitely recommend living in a flat over the a dorm despite the panic and stress during the finding process because it helped assimilate myself better to the area.

Flat was great. good area (fulham) cheap rate, but the landlords were not good at keeping up with rent, bills or things that were broken. They were fulham rentals

* Food:

nutella is better overseas.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Experience everything you can!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I never had any health issues but someone in our program did and all the necessary arrangements were taking care of to make sure she was ok. I never felt unsafe or in danger while abroad.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? about 15-25 pounds per week on groceries and about another 20 pounds every few weeks for drinks and misc. needs.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Make sure you get your deposit back from the land lord before you leave for home if you rent. I didn't and I was close to broke by the end, but it was all worth it.
