Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I had a wonderful time and learned so much about theatre, and have a totally new perspective on it. I also have to say that in my semester in London I learned more than I had my two years at Ithaca.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Overall the London Center is very well run, and is always there to support the students in their needs.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

In the end it turned out fine, probably one of the best life skill learning experiences of my time abroad. Flat in Earl's Court

All students should try to live as close to ICLC as it makes commuting breeze and makes getting around the city pretty easy as well. Especially when classes require you to travel to the center of town.

* Food:

If we weren't eating at home we were eating in one of the many great London restaurants and pubs..

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Great time in London.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I never felt frightened while I was in London, as long as you're aware of your surroundings you should be fine.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I gave myself a budget of 60 pounds a week for going out expenses and another 40 pounds for grocery and house stuff.. But realize that some weeks you'll go over and others you won't. London is expensive!
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Spend wisely, you can always cut corners and save, but remember that you are experiencing a once in a lifetime opportunity..

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
Language acquisition improvement?

I didn't have to learn a new language as it was an English-Speaking country.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Do it! London was an amazing experience, and the ICLC is the best option. You get to live in the real world, yet always know that the people at ICLC have your back if you need anything. Classes were great and the trips and activities were a lot of fun!
