Found a good place that was close to the school. The fact that You need to find the housing yourself is empowering and incites a strong sense of individuality but is also an extreme source of stress for the weeks prior to the trip.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

The Ithaca College London Center does everything it can to make things cheaper and more convenient for you, but London is just a very expensive place at the moment. It wasn't painstakingly expensive, but definitely not cheap.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $80-$100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buy mostly the cheap outlet converters, most things don't need the voltage converter included but some things will. Get the student Oyster Card through their website. And MOST IMPORTANTLY take advantage of the coupons and deals at Sainsbury's and Tesco-it will save your life. 2.50 for a sandwich,side and drink at tesco is tough to beat.

A Look Back

  • The travel to nearby countries
  • The london theater and the way the classes got me out of the classroom and into the city.
  • Munmun

  • preparing the students for the housing hunt.
  • Telling me the best food in London.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Talk to more people. Strike up a conversation. Don't be afraid. Take every chance offered to you.
