Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The weakness was the lack of interaction with students outside of Ithaca College.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing was expensive and my landlord was terrible with doing her job. Other than that, the location and actual place was not too bad.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved my experience regardless of the limited interactions. I went to a quite a few countries and saw lots of beautiful things.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $60 a week maybe on food and personal expenses. It's hard to say with the currency exchange. Everything was incredible expensive and every week there were things to do so I cant really differentiate between personal expenses and everything else.. With trips and going out at night and transportation and rent, I easily spent $1000 a month or more.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Budget. You should set a limit because it's easy to keep going to a cafe and say "oh this sandwich is on $5" only to realize you're out $50 at the end of the week.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Unless you hate the city life, almost everyone would benefit from this program. It may not be the best program but it would be hard to go home not loving the experience you had. The people at the London Center are great with giving advice and helping anyone out, and even if you're in another English speaking country, you're in a European city filled with tourists from all over the world. London one of the biggest tourist hot spots, and because you are in a city, everything is conveniently located (even if it's a short train ride away).
