What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Absolutely. I know much more about myself and how to live on a budget. I appreciate city life much more than I had before, and I am more confident in my abilities to be independent.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Everyone who works at the ICLC is dedicated, caring, and excellent at their job. They made the study abroad experience even better than it would have been otherwise.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Though it was stressful finding our own flats, the experience was valuable and the cost was much cheaper than other options. I would recommend other students do the same.

My flat wasn't school-provided, I chose it myself. It was affordable and in a great location.

* Food:

I cooked for myself most of the time, and shopped cheaply at a local market.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Study abroad was absolutely one of the best decisions I made in college. A completely unforgettable experience.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

They prepared us well for life in London and life in a big city. Our building was always locked and secure.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Not including rent or travel, my expenses probably averaged to about $120/week. (Food, theatre tickets, shopping, etc.)
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Know how much you have to spend and live within that budget. Make choices about what you want to spend your money on (maybe you'd rather go see a musical and eat a cheap dinner; or spend more on travel than on shopping). Think about what kinds of things you want to have done when you get back, and allow yourself enough money to do them.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
Language acquisition improvement?

N/A, studied in the UK.
