The iXperience Immerse program offers you the unique opportunity to compliment a UVA liberal arts course with a cutting-edge industry-relevant course and internship. This, all while earning college credit, and exploring one of the most beautiful, thrilling and culturally rich cities worldwide – Cape Town, South Africa.
Course Description

The 10-week, 9-10 credit program begins with a 4-week liberal arts course, designed by UVA exclusively for iX.
You'll gain an essential understanding of the South African context—politics, culture, history, and some of the most pressing challenges that the country and its people face. You'll also have the option to take a language course for 1 additional credit.
Then you'll take a 6-week iX career-focused course and internship that will give you both intensive classwork and practical work experience in topics like data science or finance. The course will also encourage you to think about how to address some of the challenges you grappled with in the previous course. Progressive subjects include:

• Data Science
• Full Stack Coding

You'll gain industry-relevant skills, and the opportunity to accelerate your career and beef up your résumé with an internship at a market leading company, all while supported by your teaching team.

On weekends, you'll experience the spectacular beauty, fraught past, and cultural richness of Cape Town through iX designed excursions that include cultural and nature-based tours.
