I was involved in many activities and social events. The students and residence there were mostly very friendly and willing to help. |

It is safe in general but I still need to be a bit cautious at night. I've experienced strangers( male) coming up to me and asked me if they can stay at my place. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
My German improved a lot during the time I was in Mainz, and the city has a comparatively close community. It was overall a small city, but I still had many options and opportunities for outside activities and social interaction. |
