Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was larger than I'd anticipated -- but the professors generally were good and focused on their area of study. Taking the more serious classes as a study abroad student may not be the best idea, if your goal is to immerse yourself more within the Italian culture. However, the subjects that I took were tough and fair. I did not notice a sharp difference between the level of difficulty between JCU and the university I attended in the US.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Only because I lost the ability to speak Italian without extensive practice. However, by the time I was leaving, I was able to fluidly understand Italian even though I still had problems speaking well.
