Regardless of how much you already know about a language and culture, there are always opportunities to learn more. Go into any exchange with an open mind and actively seek out opportunities to use what you are learning and apply it. Doing this will allow you have a more meaningful experience. While on these exchanges you will establish bonds with people from that area that will make you want to go back and see them again.

The workload of the program was very manageable with many opportunities to not only learn within the classroom, but to also experience cultural aspects and apply what you had learned to real life situations. |

The administration at this college were helpful in assisting not only with your academic studies, but are also quite knowledgeable about surrounding areas. They are able to give great suggestions on what activities you can do while not studying and certain "must see" locations |

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Really safe place to live, though the outside of the dorm area wasn't kept up, the insides of your room are very clean. If you want to cook, there aren't any rice cookers in your room so keep that in mind if you need to eat your own rice. |

Food here is really good and cheap at the college and at the shops surrounding the campus. Also the food is very healthy and good for a balanced diet. |

There were a lot of scares for students who were going to study abroad in Japan due to the nuclear power plant disaster and all of the earthquakes, but the area of this program was really safe and none of the students on the program experienced any problems with regards to crime or health. |

Japanese was often used when communicating with the students and teachers at the University. This college has a group that helps with any type of concerns or questions that you may have while on the exchange and are a nice group of students that will make using Japanese that you have learned a lot easier. |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | This program is geared more for students who are going into fields that concern technology. You will be involved in learning situations not only about language and culture, but with a heavy focus on applying this knowledge to science fields. Students who actively seek out opportunities to use their language will benefit the most in improving what they know and don't be afraid in making mistake, everyone there is willing to help out. |
