Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Most of the work in Sweden is done at home and isn't always explicitly told to be done (i.e. studying). Grading is done on a different format from the US. It is done on a Very Good, Pass, or Fail system. There is a lot of group discussion in Sweden's educational system during class, but on your own there is a lot of reading or studying. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
All information you will need are available down one hall. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The hostel I stayed at was over flow housing for international students. It was fun and neat to live with people from many different countries. I was a block away from the city center but a 20min bus ride from the university. |
* Food: |
Deserts and coffee abroad was excellent in Sweden. All other foods were prepared better and healthier than America but were similar in types. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I met people from over 20 different countries and have been to 7 different countries on my travels (5 if you exclude lay overs), |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Sweden is a very safe country and has excellent critical heath care, but for minimal health they tell you to ride it out. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
