Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
It was wonderful. Everyday not only did we do our regular lessons which were at a great pace, we also did clubs and other great events in Japanese which helped us learn how to use our language in real life settings! |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My housing was at a great location and close to the subway however, while at my dorm, internet was really slow and almost unusable at times. This was quite troublesome. |

|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
Every morning if I didn't look quite my best, someone from the administration office or our dorm manager would make sure I'm healthy. I thought that was great. |
* Safety: |
No other city safer than Tokyo! <3 |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I don't know how to answer this well because I tend to spend a lot of money and I didn't cook much of my own meals due to my lack of cooking skills. You can however do very well with less than 100 dollars a week. I personally love to spend money though haha... |
* Was housing included in your program cost? | Yes |
* Was food included in your program cost? | No |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Around 150 dollars on average. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Just save up before leaving or get a visa and get a part-time job while there. |

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | Talk to even the other Americans in Japanese... the more you use it the more it gets stuck in your head! |
