Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

KCP is an amazing intensive language school to attend if you want to learn Japanese. The staff and teachers are great and everyone is friendly. Tokyo is an amazing city and Japan is a beautiful place. This program has offered amazing experiences for me.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program's administration at KCP are very helpful. They make sure you are doing okay on a daily basis and will help you with whatever questions you may have.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Other students at KCP are very friendly and are fun to hang out with. During my time in Tokyo I went to many fireworks festivals, traveled to Yamagata, went to Tokyo Disneyland and so much more. There is so much to do and see in Japan that you will never be bored.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The staff at KCP are concerned about your health if you get sick or have a health related issue. They will take you to a Hospital or Doctor if you need to go. Tokyo felt very safe. The only thing I would say is to be careful when you go out at night to any bars or clubs. They are having issues with people getting drugged in Roppongi.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Make sure you budget your money and don't go spend crazy when you first arrive.

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

Most teachers only speak Japanese so this forces you to learn the language. Students from other countries, such as South Korea and Taiwan, do not speak much english so you must interact in the common language which again motivates you to learn more Japanese.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? If you are serious about learning Japanese I would suggest you attend KCP. The school is very good at teaching Japanese and Tokyo is a great city to live in. Japan is beautiful.
