Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
There was a lot more reading required for classes, but fewer assignments. The grade was given based on either one major paper, or a smaller paper and a comprehensive exam. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
faculty provided helpful support |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I needed cookware, but there was a "pots and pans giveaway" where we could acquire items left by previous study abroad students. |
* Food: |
learn to cook. it's expensive to buy pre-made meals or take-away all the time. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
days trips to Chester, York, Liverpool, Cardiff, and were cheap and well worth it. |
* Health Care:

Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I don't remember exactly, but I think it was about $35 per week. Avoid shopping at the Select & Saves on campus if you can help it. Items are much cheaper at an actual grocery store. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Housing deposit that you get back after you come back to the US |
