Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
The pocket money that they told us to take was more than enough for food and souvenirs. Most people didn't even use it all. |
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I spent $320 dollars of my own and $200 that was given to us for lunch money. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Don't buy a lot of souvenirs, they are expensive. A couple of things and tons of pictures are enough. Besides, if you buy a lot, you might struggle to pack it when you come back. Also, eat cheap; and count your money so that you know how much you can safely spend per day; Save what you didn't use instead of rolling it over to the next day. |

It was nearly impossible to go anywhere if you have no access to a connected map; or if you cannot call anyone if anything were to go wrong. |
