KIIS Japan Summer 2018 Past Review

KIIS: Traveling - Experience Japan (Summer)

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I have always wanted to travel, but had never really been outside of the United States, so this trip made me realize that travelling is even more worthwhile when you're so immersed in learning about the culture and language of the place you're travelling to rather than just being a brief tourist and missing out on the aspects of a new place people should really experience. It's not all about the sights, it's about the people and the rich history to be found there.

  • A bit more free time and not as many full group outings.
  • More information about host family going in.
  • Information about transportation there.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? What to expect concerning transportation. We had to use trains a lot and if you were alone it could be difficult and sometimes it was crowded or confusing, so some prior information could be useful.
