Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Great educational experience. I took three classes, and all professors were great and knowledgable in their area of expertise. It's a summer program so the GPA I got wouldn't have affected that of my home university, but I really pushed myself to get an academic scholarship. The academic rigor would depend on your determination, but if you would like to get the scholarship, I recommend you to study as hard as you do in your home institution. The academic intensity would depend on the course you take and the professors, but my general feeling is that the course load is reasonable. As long as you put your effort, you will get the grade you are happy with. What I really liked about KU ISC was that the professors and staffs tried to be as helpful as they could! They would print out the textbooks you have to read for class and make sure you have a satisfying experience with the program and in Seoul. One thing that I suggest for an improvement is to have classes taken in other academic buildings of KU. This doesn't bring the quality of experience down, but I wish I had an opportunity to take classes in other buildings so I could get more comprehensive experience that KU could provide. Wish I had the next opportunity to join KU ISC again, but I will be graduating within few weeks. I still hope for the best wishes for the program, and I hope to re-visit Annam soon!

On-site administration of your program

Well-organized administration. The staffs were punctual and knew what they were doing. I got my offer letter late compared to others, and when I called them, they were immediately able to find out the problem and really tried to solve it.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

N/A because I didn't get a KU housing, but I heard from friends that it was a satisfying experience to live with roommates from various countries.

Food is awesome because it's cheap! One thing I would say about food is that the food provided in school restaurants is limited (and sometimes average), but if you go somewhere right outside of the campus, you'll have many options.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

It was a welcoming experience to get to know the school culture. Because I was already familiar with the Korean culture, I didn't have much trouble getting used to it, but I'm confident that those who don't know about the Korean culture shouldn't have much trouble integrating.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

N/A because I didn't have a healthcare problem. Make sure to have all required vaccines before departing from your home country.

Korea is probably one of the safest countries in the world. It's fine to hand around at 3am without feeling unsafe. Just make sure to know where you are going and what you are doing!

The location (Annam) is great, professors were great, great classes.. I think i've explained enough in my previous comments

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It's relatively easy to live on a student's budget because the food cost within campus is cheap. However, restaurants outside of the campus is more expensive, and the cose to live in Korea has been rising. You would need little bit more than the minimum expenses.
