KU is Where You Want To Get Into Past Review

Lets do a little prep for Seoul! Got T-money card? Check! Korean won? Check! Cute Hand Held Fan? Check! Umbrella? Check! Good tennis shoes? Check! Alright now if you have all those I think you are prepared for studying abroad at KU! Whether it is hopping on the bus to arrive outside the KU campus building or climbing hills to finally arrive at the dorm, I would never forget each view. Every day I spent on campus or in the buzzing streets of Seoul was something I never took for granted. A day without smile is a day wasted. I could say at this point that no time spent in Seoul was a day wasted. The people I met, the memories I made, and the food I ate could not have compared to any other summer of my life...even when Korea always manages to add an extra step at the end of each flight of stairs that could possibly trip you haha. For anyone who in the future possibly stumbles upon this review, I hope this message can serve as a final push for you to step foot into Seoul and make awesome memories like I did. :)

The level of academic work at KU was definitely not a walk in the park, but both courses I took were very eye-opening in teaching us about Korean culture and history. The amount of work offered in the 6 weeks was definitely the standard I expected from such a prestigious university like Korea University. |

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I was very satisfied with the dorm in Global because it was very clean and the it was obvious the dorm was very-well maintained. Even the ladies who came to clean our bathroom every week were nice. |

I LOVE THE FOOD IN KOREA! I loved the food so much that I lost my appetite when I returned back to the US honestly. |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I enjoyed the local atmosphere in Korea, but I wish I had took more initiative in interacting with the local students and residents. |

How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I did not encounter any health issues abroad so I am happy. |

I believe Korea is very safe compared to many countries. I never once felt unsafe and nothing every stopped me from going out to explore. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
YES I would choose this program at KU no matter how many times you ask me! :) |

Eating out in Seoul is a lot cheaper compared to eating out in the US. You can get a quick meal at the convenient store for less than $4. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | It is better to convert money to Korean won before arriving to Korea to avoid ATM transaction fees honestly. |
