What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I really enjoyed my study abroad experience. I improved my French tremendously, but I was very disappointed with the school itself.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The classes are 2 week modules with a test at the very end. If this test is failed then at the end of the semester, if you failed the exam, you can retake it. You also have French Language classes that you take when your business schedule allows it. Overall I felt like I learned nothing.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Sup de Co is incredibly unorganized and do not expect to get anything done in a timely manner.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food is fabulous, make a point of trying everything.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Make sure to do the Welcome Weekend, it was a lot of fun.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

La Rochelle is a very small town, it is not very safe at night though. Bikes get stolen alot, and there are lots of homeless people out at night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Everything is more expensive here

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

Not a lot of people in La Rochelle speak English so you are forced to use French. My French was greatly improved.

Direct Enrollment/Exchange
