Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Spring 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The classes were set up really poorly I thought. If you wanted to vacation it was a very good because there was no need to attend all the classes in order to do well on the assignments. The grading system was more tough, but it was easy to understand what the assignment was asking you to do, and you would only have to attend minimal classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

not very good instructions on what to do when we first got there and very disorganized when sending us important emails that needed to be filled out in order to come.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

communal bathrooms and kitchen, but very fun and easy to meet friends

very veryyyy fun

* Food:

the restaurant food was very tasty

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

so much to do with the dorm I lived in which was perfect

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

much cheaper than here

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? alcohol was expensive, and food was just about the same after the conversions, around $60 per week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? a little more expensive than here

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
Language acquisition improvement?

learned some aussie slang, that's about it
