Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

. I learnt French with Lankey, and it was the best educational experience. My Professor was always there for me even after classes. I was able to improve my French pronunciation as well as my vocabulary in only 3 weeks.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

the on-site administrators helped me to integrate with the culture. the smile never left their faces throughout my stay. everything was well organized: trips/transportation/meals etc... well, I never felt bored during my stay.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I chose to live with a host family. all its members were very welcoming. they tried hard to make me feel like home. the woman in the house always prepared mint tea for me as she knew how much I like it. I made unforgettable memories with them.

* Food:

Food in Morocco is unique. The smell of couscous ( the usual Friday lunch) and the color of the veggies on it are special. I tasted the Basstilla too (a special meal made for big occasions) and Tajine. Every dish has its own beauty. I really can't wait to taste them again.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Living with a host family, travelling all over Morocco, discovering the city where I stayed in. All these experiences helped me to integrate more with the local culture. I learnt many things about Moroccan Culture and I am so happy with that.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Thankfully I didn't experience any health problems, but Everythings was well organized for this matter.

* Safety:

I lived in the Capital of Morocco and in a safe neighborhood. I was able to walk alone freely without feeling afraid. instead, I enjoyed walking on Rabat streets.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I am planning to visit Morocco with Lankey again. it was a life-changing experience.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I chose the all-inclusive Program, which helped me to save money. In general, living in Rabat is not that expensive compared to Germany.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I didn't pay for food and transportation as I chose all-inclusive program I spent money only to buy my own stuff and that was about 90$
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Do not waste all your money in one city because you will regret it. each city has its own beauty and you definitely need money for that.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

My host family speaks French, so I spoke french even after classes and that was really helpful.

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Beginner
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Intermediate
How many hours per day did you use the language?
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Moroccans speak French Fluently, don't be shy to speak with them even if you are a beginner they will be happy to help you!
