Leeds Beckett University: Leeds - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes, as much as I loved it, it also made me appreciate what I have here at home even more.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The grading system was difficult because of the few assignments that were graded but the information was good and i enjoyed most of the classes. The major difference between that and american teaching is they do not really have homework so its easy to forget about the classes info.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I really had no expectations so I wasn't really let down at all the only thing was that i was placed with no other exchange students from either america or any other country, which I thought was strange.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Try to find food that you like at the store and ask the locals

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The clubs in Leeds are awesome.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Leeds is a relatively safe city and again my program didn't really help me at all but if i needed help I'm sure they would have helped in any way.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Not exactly sure each week but I spent about 7000 total
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Do not think you can go out every weekend or you will be poor quicker than you think.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
