Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was less because there were relatively few assignments due for each course, but rather one final exam at the end. The teaching methods were similar, but there was a bit more group work than I would prefer. I did enjoy having my grade come from one final exam. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The strengths and weaknesses that I see in this program are not related to any of the above mentioned things. My expectations were met though. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My flatmates were rather quiet which was unfortunate. |
| * Food: |
The food is good. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Nations present a great night life and lots of drinking. However, alcohol in sweden is too expensive. Some trips were planned by the program, but I did not participate. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
The city is safe and the medicine in sweden is very weak. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Well about $125 on a cheap week and maybe close to $300 on an expensive week. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | The financial aid is not enough money to travel so bring extra. |
Language
| * Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
| How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
| What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | N/A |
| If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
| Language acquisition improvement? |
I praticed with my flatmates and other internationals taking the language course. The host language was not necessary but I tried to use it as much as possible anyway. Everyone speaks english, some better than others. |
