Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Courses in my major (computer science) were pretty challenging. The grading system in Australia is very different from the U.S. so make sure to check it out beforehand to get an idea of what it's like. The percentage required to get the highest grade is only an 85, but I also found that it is more difficult to get higher grades in general. |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Living at the Macquarie University Village, there is no heating or air in the buildings, which can be a downside on the really hot or cold days. I was aware of this going in, but it's still worth noting. |

* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
There is an exchange society on campus called MACex. This group is run by current Macquarie students who have studied abroad themselves. They put on several different events throughout the semester for students on exchange to go and experience while being in Australia. I'm so glad I found this group because I went and experienced some things that I otherwise wouldn't have. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |

* Safety: |

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes

Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Sydney is one of the most expensive places to live in the world. It's certainly not impossible to get by on minimal cost, but I found that many, many things were quite a bit more expensive than what I was used to. |
