What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned first hand about the social, political and cultural history of the region. It's refreshing when information in a textbook comes to life and you get to see it for yourself.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Absolutely! I highly encourage students to participate in the program. I am most thankful to the professors, admin, and staff (in particular Professor Austin, Martin Glogar, Ricky, and Jan) for creating and fostering such a positive experience and environment.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The opportunity to travel and learn first hand about various cities in Central Europe
  • The structure of the course
  • The combined experience of course instruction with the opportunity to travel
* What could be improved?
  • More time allotted to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau. While we did tour the main camp, Auschwitz I, additional time to visit Auschwitz II would have been most appreciated and preferred.
