Middlebury Schools Abroad: Middlebury In Amman
I gained a much deeper insight into the politics, people, and culture of Jordan and the Middle East. It was my first time diving this deeply into a new culture and it was very rewarding!

* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
It is definitely difficult to integrate in a culture that is so different, it helps to involve yourself in extracurricular activities, volunteer opportunities, and making friends with locals. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
Program was great at assisting me with my healthcare needs. The local healthcare system is very different and there can sometimes be a language barrier in smaller hospitals. Some hospitals are much better than others. One i went to was very unprofessional and kind of scary. |
* Safety: |

Yes
|

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language |
The language pledge was a crucial part of the program and contributed greatly to my language development. |
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | Intermediate |
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Advanced |
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | Arabic 4 |
