I learned a lot about living on my own because Middlebury College is a bubble and you don't have to deal with a lot of the things you normally deal with outside of school A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
It was totally worthwhile! I gained exposure to a new culture and different ways of doing things, which was extremely exciting. I also gained so much confidence. Finally, more than 10 year later, it's shaped so much of what I've done- living and working in Argentina and Uruguay for 5 years, walking Saint James' Way (definitely... I gained the ability to converse normally with native Spanish speakers, something I hadn't really been able to do before. I also learned a bit of "adulting" living on my own and basically fending for myself. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
It was very worthwhile. I met Spanish friends and it absolutely opened my eyesight. Xingzi Xu - Middlebury College View Entire Review
My main goal in studying abroad was to improve my Spanish language skills. Although it was hard to notice my progress at times, if I look back at my level of skill at the beginning of the program, I am proud of the steps I took towards fluency. This program is extremely conducive to that. A student - Pomona College View Entire Review
Friends from all over the world. I learned to immerse myself in another culture while still being a part of my own. Zachary Blacker - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I perfectioned my Spanish speaking skills A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned a lot of Spanish. I lived on my own basically for the first time, so I now feel like I have practice in that. I experienced living in a foreign country and language, with all its challenges, surprises, highs and lows. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
My Spanish improved and I was able to get immersed in the culture. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
My listening and writing skills definitely improved, as did my fluency when speaking. I appreciated the opportunity to live independently in a second language, but I just didn't feel the urge to integrate more with my peers. I didn't fall in love with Spain, and that's okay. I still love Spanish. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned about Spanish culture, lifestyle, and attitudes, and will take this new cultural awareness with me wherever I go. I gained unforgettable friendships and experiences, and found my time incredibly worthwhile. I also learned basic life skills, like cooking, cleaning, using transportation etc. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
