It was definitely worthwhile; I learned how to navigate a brand new city.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Not super satisfied. My room was nice but far out of the city and I still haven't received my deposit back from the administration. (I keep trying to contact them)

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Going to the local Florence University helped a lot with this.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I never had to do anything healthcare related while abroad.

* Safety:

I always felt safe in Florence but pick pocketing was a big issue for other students/tourists.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

I didn't feel like the program/administration was that well organized.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Cooking at home is a lot cheaper than eating out.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
