Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The professors were dedicated and engaging. I especially liked the Masters level course as it was challenging and informative. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The cultural coordinator, was such a helpful and supportive resource. My experience with the director was decent, but I have observed that she is a bit authoritative during times of hardship or confusion. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I absolutely loved my host family. My host parents were both delightful, warm, and supportive throughout my entire stay. |
* Food: |
At times, the food at my homestay felt insufficient to my diet (i.e. Salad with hard boiled egg, tuna with tomato, salad with brie cheese pieces). However, I had no trouble finding alternatives in the city. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
While communicating with non-English speaking facilities was extremely difficult, the Middlebury Madrid team handled my health concerns so professionally and with support. She was most helpful with sharing counseling resources and discussing insurance logistics. She made reaching out feel a lot easier. |
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I would not do the program itself again, but I would recommend it to anyone who is up for a healthy challenge! |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $80 to ~$120 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Budget EARLY! Do not splurge during the first month and really think about whether you need things or not |
Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | Advanced |
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Advanced |
