I improved my spanish and became a more independent person. The cultural immersion made me more open-minded and able to try new things.

I am vegetarian so Uruguay was not the best food option for me, but I still made it work and had a wonderful time. |

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Buy fresh produce at street markets instead of at the grocery store! Much cheaper and also supports local, small scale farmers. |

| Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | Make sure to only speak the language, even with American friends! We signed a language pledge and that forced me to be disciplined. Immersion is necessary to improve! |
