Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The courses were rigorous, but in all fairness it is because of the language barrier. The language classes were phenomenal. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administrators for the program were also professors for the cultural courses. Without them, the experience wouldn't be enriching |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I have mixed feelings because the dorm was great, but the dorm only had American students. |
* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |

Yes
I love it, Middlebury has done a great job providing us an experience we could never get if we just traveled to Japan. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
This would be difficult for students without a stable income. Students have to pay on average 15 dollars a day for meals. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | At least 100 dollars |

Individual Course Reviews
Course Name/Rating: |
History of the Middle East |
Course Department: | History |
Instructor: | |
Instruction Language: | Japanese |
Comments: | There was so much information. I really wish that there were in class group discussions, but because it was a lecture that wasn't possible. It was hard to participate because no one wanted to talk. This is not the teachers fault, it is the problem that comes with such a huge class. |
Credit Transfer Issues: | Students must face the language pledge which is a huge hindrance of what classes you can take. Sometimes you can't take classes that are for your major because it is in English. |
