Altogether I was happy with the Middlebury program in almost all aspects, but the host university has some limitations in resources and education quality is not comparable to my experiences at my home university.

Yes! Language pledge is a special component of the Middlebury program and I feel that it helped me improve my language skills.

Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'

Comments: Teacher was very knowledgeable and well-prepared but the class was not interactive and there were very limited opportunities for student participation. Short writing assignments as weekly homework and a final paper, but never received feedback nor grading.
