What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I can find my way around in almost any city now without feeling nervous about getting lost. I know how to manage money, and even if you don't speak the language, it's okay because people are generally nice and forgiving.

It's an absolutely incredible experience; being on your own in a country other than the US has a very freeing feeling. Do as much as you can and get to know the city you're in well. Go places. Stay out late. Wake up early. Eat good food and drink. Go to all the museums and have great cultural experiences.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Eat street food; it's cheaper. You'll want to save your money for alcohol and shopping, and then you can spend a little bit more on nice dinners or weekend trips.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Free weekends
  • Amazing business visits
  • Class for two hours a day.
* What could be improved?
  • Go to more museums or historical sites as a class, some people don't even leave their rooms so they need to get out and do more.
  • Better hotels.
  • Do more fun activities like Mike's Bikes tour in Munich as a group.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? No matter what type of people are going, it is perfectly okay to tag along wherever they do go. Everyone is there to experience new things, and even if you aren't friends, I can promise you will be by the end of the trip.
