Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Overall, I felt like this is what junior college would be like. The teachers were often bias in their opinions, stating subject matter that they agreed with as facts rather as personal preference or opinions, and never communicating effectively with the students just what exactly it was they wanted us to do when it came to papers, presentations, and exams.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I've basically said what needed to be said. The only thing that makes this program worth while, and I would recommend it despite the quality of education, is because of wonderful a country Taiwan is.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I set out and found an apartment on my own. I lived with a French guy, and a Brit. They were both a lot of fun to spend time with and I learned a lot through my experience living with them.

* Food:

Taiwan has a lot of different foods. It's fairly standard by East Asian standards.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Lots to see and do. Can go surfing, hiking, swimming, scuba diving, and the list goes on and on.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

A very safe and healthy environment. One of the safest places I've ever been.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Maybe $50-60US per week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Everything is cheap here. Just try not to go too crazy.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
