Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload is different from my home university. Singapore students are very studious because their grades are on a curve and are competing against one another in classes. Each class requires alot of attention and should not be taken lightly. Also, in the business school, group projects and presentations are utilized in many classes to improve our abilities as team members. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administration at NUS is very helpful. Their student service system is very organized and helpful. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
the food was local food. If a student is not used to asian food for breakfast and dinner everyday, i wouldn't advice going to stay at this hostel. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I was able to be there for national day, and it was really fun to be a part of. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The university is very safe and also there was an on-campus hospital we could go to for any help medically. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Do not let your attention slip from your classes too much. It is great to enjoy your time to see the country and experience all there is. But make sure your studies are taken care of first. |
Individual Course Reviews
Course Name/Rating: |
ES2002 Business Communication |
Course Department: | Business |
Instructor: | Jean Lee |
Instruction Language: | English |
Comments: | This was my favorite course of the semester for many reasons. It was a size of around twenty students so it was very hands on and easily to be engaged in. Also, I learned the most from this course. I improved GREATLY in my presentation skills and also learned alot about interpersonal communication. I am really glad i took this course. |
Credit Transfer Issues: | Not too much. I would recommend asking your advisor if there is a list of previous students that studied abroad to the same university and see what classes they were allowed to transfer. It gives a really good frame of which classes you will have no problem of transferring credits. Other than that, just talk to an advisor about planning your courses abroad. |

Credit Transfer Issues: | No i did not. I would suggest meeting with your advisor to plan what courses should be taken. Also, what i found very helpful was a list of previous students that exchanged to the same university and what classes were transferred. |
