What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned so much about Asian culture that I had been very ignorant of before - I would do it again in a heart beat!

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

the atmosphere and dining hall at RVRC were great for meeting people and joining clubs.

* Food:

RVRC meal plan was not very healthy or tasteful food. They often served hot dogs or waffles with steamed carrots for breakfast. Utown had great selections.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

the school administration put in little to no effort to mix local and exchange students. If you wanted to meet locals you had to make the first step, join clubs and talk to people, which is to be expected almost anywhere you go.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

healthcare was very accessible, however they didn't accept UT health insurance which we were required to buy. medications were relatively cheap, but doctors would often prescribe multiple medications that never seemed to help much.

* Safety:

Singapore is the 2nd safest city in the world

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

South East Asia is a world on its on that needs to be explored. Singapore is a miracle in the middle of all the chaos

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $50 a week on food, all museums free for students

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
