The courses were challenging but doable and VERY interesting. I learned so much I could talk for days about the history of Ireland, the politics, culture, and literature. I can even say I got to meet and converse with most of the authors themselves, since Conor (program director and literature teacher) got them to come into class!

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

You get to live on the Trinity College campus, which is apparently a huge deal because most Trinity students don't get to live there during the year. It's very competitive to live there as a full time student, but NYU has the hook-up! The rooms are so nice; everyone has a single room in an apartment style dorm.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We got to go places and see things that most tourists NEVER would. It was the coolest experience to go into little villages all over Ireland and get to talk with the locals and learn from them.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

"Don't go on the grass!" -Conor, the very safety conscious program director, who doesn't want anyone to fall off a cliff

This summer with NYU in Dublin was by far the best experience of my entire life. Not only did I have a blast and meet some of the coolest people who are now my best friends, I also learned so much. I can say confidently that know more about Ireland and Irish history/culture/literature than a good amount of people who live there. I read amazing books, saw amazing sights, travelled around a whole country, learned to love the outdoors even in the rain, sang in pubs, met my best friends, met an elderly KING of a tiny little island you have to take a small boat too, found a vertibrae near an ancient burial ground, fell in love with the Trinity tour guides (trust me, you will too... ) and made Dublin my home. How many people can say that???

• The classes were so great I barely even realized I was learning so much.

• There's a microphone on the bus that should only be given to people who earn those privileges. Certain guest guides got a little too much mic time and bored me to death.
