Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The staff all speaks English, yet know Italian perfectly as well. Hence they have an extensive knowledge about Florence, and Italy in general. The program had many strenghts including many activities for students ranging from field trips to cheese tastings to seeing movies and including American life like watching the SuperBowl etc. It was a good mix of both worlds. The program size was perfect as it was small enough for people to really meet and bond yet there was still a diversity of people.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived on campus which is amazing! The estate of NYU in Florence is breathtaking! The neighbourhood is extremely safe and it's obviously very close to class. Nightlife is a lot of fun and campus was relatively close to it. No items needed to settle in your dorm room as there was sheets and towels provided.

* Food:

The food in Italy is amazing and the campus cafeteria reflects the Italian traditions. The only downside might be breakfast.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Florence is a very safe city, especially if you stick to basic street smarts.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

I would practice the language with locals. I used the language in everyday interactions, even though most people spoke english.
