Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Fall 2007

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

classes were generally not very hard. i did learn new things in my classes, but the work load was not overbearing at all. i like this about the program though because it gave me time to explore rather than sit in the library and do homework while im in another country.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

i think that the program was overall very well organized. i went as a freshman during my first semester so i think that my abroad experience was a little different than a normal one. administration was a little bit more strick with the freshman on the program, which got annoying a lot of the time because i sometimes felt like i did not have all the freedom i would have like.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

pretty good housing. extremely small rooms.

* Food:

since i was not on any type of food plan it was really expensive.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

i think that i had a good social experience. it was fun to travel around london and get to know a new city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

i was in an english speaking country, and english is my first language. didnt make much of a difference.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? i think that it is overall a great program. i would suggest it to another student.

Comments: the course was really fun. we spent the majority of classes traveling through various museums around london. we would also take walks around the city with our professor learning about architecture. it wasnt particularly challenging but it was fun and my professor was very nice.

Comments: this was my one hard class while studying in london. i had both a lot of homework and spent a lot of time in the classroom due to lab hours, class time and smaller group meeting with the professor that was held once a week. i definitely learned a lot in this class, probably the most out of all of my classes. my professor was great and extremely knowledgeable. participated as i usually would have.

Comments: this class was fun. mostly lecture based. everyone also had one big presentation that was about 50% of our grade. there was not a lot of homework int his class because we only have 2 tests and one presentation so we never had to do very much outside of the class work, besides some reading.
