Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I participated in a special work-study program with the BBC through our Arts school and it hardly felt like we were taking classes, in a good way. I felt immersed in the world of the BBC and was excited to be going about lessons in my craft. The screenwriting and cultural classes we took as well were fun though.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

NYU Housing in London is wonderful! At least their new dorms where most of the students end up, but it's a huge program so they chuck some of the kids elsewhere. You are located walking distance to just about everything and anything you'll want to do. It's really a blessing. I never felt unsafe.

* Food:

You get access to UCL's (Unversity College London) cafeteria so there's cheaper food and beer options there, but the great part about living in a city is the ethnic and cultural food experience everywhere sure people joke British food, but there was wonderful pub food everywhere, Pret and Tesco and the like were quick and cheap as well as your familiar American fast food staples EVERYWHERE.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

They had tons of activities from the Welcome Week bus tour to weekend trips to Windsor and Stonhenge and London plays and activities to go see with your virtual points. I got to go on the incredibly pricey London Eye for free thanks to NYU programs! Didn't take advantage enough of all of their great activities, but you should!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

London is like NYC watch your back, it's a huge city, go to sketchy areas and do sketchy things at you're at risk...just be smart.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
