Romania coninues to teach me! Past Review
By A student (HISTORY., Gordon College) - abroad from 04/22/2011 to 07/17/2011 with
Northwestern College: Romania Semester
My experience in Romania was so rich, it is hard to sum up! The things my internship with NHO taught me about community development, youth empowerment, and cultivating democracy greatly influences my current work with a non-profit in the U.S. and with starting a new school here. My study of Orthodoxy profoundly influenced my faith, with its strong affirmation of human flourishing and the sacredness of our earthly experience. The host family who so generously and warmly welcomed me into their lives continue to occupy a tender place in my heart. We stay in touch via Facebook :)

The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
