What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Worthwhile is such an understatment. Studying a new language opens up many new doors to friendships, opprotunities, cultures... it is invaluble. The deeper you let yourself fall into the new culture, the more satisfaction you'll get when you're there and when you leave. I saw some people make a huge mistake in other programs- they come with a large group of people from their university or from another university in the U.S. and they do nothing but hang out with those people from the university. It is such a waist- stay at home if you can't let yourself leave!!

I feel that I learned Spanish, and am now able to speak it confidently. For only studying spanish for 5 months, I am very well prepared. I have seen many students who have studied spanish for years elsewhere who do not have nearly the comprehension that I learned in my studies. |

Llegue en BsAs sin espanol, y ahora hablo bastante bien. Eso es por muy bien profesores pero tambien es porque trate de hablar con toda la gente, no me importaba quien, era solo para practicar. |

| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | If you are serious about learning the language, an intensive language program is the way to go. In this way, you can speak to locals and also learn from professional teachers who are natives in the spanish speaking country. |
