Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The work load was overall pretty easy. The difficult part was that the whole course was spoken in Spanish, this was hard to get use to but eventually I started to pick it up |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Program size was very small 3-4 people in each class, be prepared to be focused and called on for questions. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I stayed with people I knew if Cordoba, they spoke some English but mostly Spanish. I would bring a box of your favorite snack so you can have a piece of home with you to have when ever you want. |
| * Food: |
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. Lots of Asados, "barbecues" delicious meats. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The program had city tours, dance classes and many more things to do. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
The hospitals are not like the U.S....don't get hurt. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Peso are 4-1 right now to the American dollar. Be careful because everything seems so cheap, so you can spend a lot. I planned I spending much more, but I was careful and spend 3 times as less. |
Language
| * Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
| If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
| Language acquisition improvement? |
The family I stayed with spoke all Spanish so I spoke with them. Also I would go shopping, ride the bus and out to restaurants where I could practice my skills. People loved to try and speak English with me, they learn it in school so they liked to try. |
