Established in 1952, the NRCSA Center in Hamburg has developed into one of the leading language schools in Germany. Classes are held in a quiet pedestrian precinct in the heart of Hamburg. Public transport access (underground, suburban rail, bus) is excellent. There are approximately 45 qualified German teachers on hand to ensure that all students attending classes get the attention they need. All teachers have university degrees and most have many years of experience. There is also a foreign language book shop available to students which sells modern language text books, foreign language literature and travel guides. A cafeteria is available for students as well as the general public. PROGRAMS INTENSIVE GROUP • 25 Group hrs/wk • 45 min class hour • 4-12 Students per class GROUP + TUTORIAL • 25 Group hrs/wk • 5 Private hrs/wk • 45 min class hour • 4-12 Students per class Homestay odging is where students stay with carefully selected German families. This is the best way of practicing the language and learning about the German way of living. Accommodations are in apartments or homes. Some of the homestays are located in the city center, while others are located on the outskirts.. Homestay are either with a family or a single person. Students can optionally stay in the student residence which is located in the main school building.. There is a minimum stay of 1 month for this option. The residence is made up of apartment units and can be booked as a single, double or triple. There are no meals included with lodging in the residence. Each unit is equipped with a complete kitchen, a bathroom, a TV, and a telephone. Bed linens and towels are included, and a laundry is located nearby. For those students who prefer more independence; accommodations can be arranged at the Hohenfelde Boarding House. The Hohenfelde is at a first-class location near the lake 'Außenalster', approximately 15 minutes from the school by public transport. There is a minimum stay of 1 month for this option. Each unit has two rooms and includes half-board (breakfast plus cold dinner). Every room has its own shower, toilet, kitchenette, and telephone. Bed linens and towels are included, and use of the washing machine. Students need to arrive at the Boarding House by Friday before 12:00.
